EXPLOITATION MANAGER EUROPEAN RESEARCH PROJECTS

ROLE SUMMARY  

WE are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Exploitation Manager to join our team focusing on European Research Projects. As the Exploitation Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing the impact and commercialization potential of the research outcomes generated within our European projects. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between innovative research and practical application, ensuring that the knowledge and technologies developed are effectively transferred into marketable products, services, or processes. You will be also required to produce highly quality reports presentations and deliverables for project stakeholders, funding agencies and investors.  

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Develop and implement exploitation strategies for European research projects, in alignment with project objectives and funding requirements. 
  • Identify and evaluate commercialization opportunities arising from project outcomes, including intellectual property rights, technologies, and knowledge. 
  • Collaborate closely with project partners and stakeholders to understand the market potential and end-user needs. 
  • Lead the development of business plans, market analyses, and commercialization roadmaps to guide the exploitation process. 
  • Manage intellectual property rights, patents, and licensing agreements related to project outputs and IP experts. 
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on exploitation-related matters, including market validation, business model development, and investor engagement. 
  • Monitor and track the progress of exploitation activities, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and objectives as per project timelines. 
  • Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and funding opportunities relevant to the project portfolio. 
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and deliverables for project stakeholders, funding agencies, and investors. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Post Graduate Degree from an accredited institution in Business, Innovation Management, or related disciplines. A Ph.D. is a plus. 
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills proven by portfolio of reports, research papers, proposals/tenders and studies. 
  • Experience in a similar position, within the context of European research projects or similar initiatives. 
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property management, technology licensing, and business development processes. 
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, industry partners, investors, and policymakers. 
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities and develop actionable plans for exploitation. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in English. Knowledge of other European languages is a plus. 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally for project meetings, conferences, or networking events.
